     this is a collection of tracks that i made while not really paying attention to what i was doing. with 'yr better off now' i had begun making generally shorter tracks & i thought it was a new trend for me until i finally noticed what i had been doing with these...

    1.    this was my entry in the Summer 2005 Battle of The Bits Contest. basically it is a 'remix' contest where the samples are uploaded to the site by the remixers themselves & voted on by everyone for general coolness, etc. the best 25 are then used by everyone to create tracks for the contest, and only the 25 samples may be used and you only have abt 48 hours to finish yr track. my entry used only 2 of the 25; & i didnt win.

    2.&3.    these were originally cassette 4-track recordings from 5-11-00 and 5-16-00, respectively. i re-found them & decided to fool with them while i was in a bit of a creative rut, thus creating these new-fangled versions. they had vocals & different titles on the cassette but i won't discuss that here, so too bad.

    4.    this track was made the day i learned of the death of Hunter S. Thompson. without getting into the many ways he has affected my life, i like to think this track was created in a way that is much along the lines of what i learned from him over the years.

    5.    this track was made in various hotel rooms in Grand Rapids, MI while i was staying there for work and with much on my mind. similar to how i was feeling, the track ended up being a mishmash of lots of conflicting ideas and issues that, i hope, all work out in the end.
